Quebec Mosque Shooting: Six Killed, Eight Wounded

Six people were killed and five wounded at a Quebec mosque shooting on January 29, 2017. Gunmen opened fire inside the Quebec City Islamic Cultural Centre during Sunday night prayers. According to the police, two suspects had been arrested, but no futher details about them or the attack followed. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned this "terrorist attack on Muslims in a center of worship and refuge". Reuters reports: "The shooting came on the weekend that Trudeau said Canada would welcome refugees, after U.S. President Donald Trump suspended the U.S. refugee program and temporarily barred citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States on national security grounds." Canada has much more strict gun legislation than the USA and a mass shooting is a very extraordinary incident there.
